Moosehead-1X, like Wingat-1X in the Walvis basin, targeted carbonate reef plays, both which turned out to be tight. Neither of those wells were targeting clastic (sandstone) prospects, which have since proven to be the much better play (at least in the Orange basin), charged as they are by the Kudu shale source rock, which we now know is ubiquitous all along offshore Namibia, which resulted from the OAE1a anoxic (aka, Selli) event associated with the incipient syn-rifting of the Southern Atlantic ocean during the Aptian Age of the early Cretaceous Period ~120Ma.
