From The Chronicle;
Cougar bores chemical free
22nd November 2010
THE latest round of water testing from bores near Cougar Energy?s underground coal gasification plant at Kingaroy have shown no detectable levels of BTEX chemicals.
Earlier this year Cougar?s operations were shut down when traces of BTEX chemicals were found in nearby groundwater sources.
Since then, no benzene or toluene has been detected on water bores and monitoring bores as close to 20 metres from the company?s pilot burn site.
All sample tests were sent to the Department of Environment and Resource Management.
