Great Post Sneef,
McKinsey has posted a number of BNPL articles on their website and I recall reading one in particular around 2021 that mentioned that stuck with me. An excerpt:
”Currently, card-linked installments at purchase are offered in the United States through fintechs like Splitit; network-offered solutions in pilot stages, like Visa Installments; or cobranded or narrowly targeted merchant partnerships, such as the ones Chase and Citi have with Amazon.
Average ticket sizes are around $1,000, and adoption is greater in higher credit bands.
Card-linked installments will be a table-
stakes capability in the coming years, but the players who can integrate this across the purchase journey and effectively monetize prepurchase offerings are likely to be able to differentiate.”
Great to see this vision taking shape.
