michael-perhaps you see it as oneupmanship,i see a different reality, that i am 55yrs old probably has a lot to do with the 10,20,30---i have met lots of incredible people and they have compensated for the less than incredible people,i like optimism,i like positives,am not very fond of negative diatribe that has insufficient substance,i like a can do attitude the optimism that comes with opportunity and those that seek it,things like china is going broke, the usa are going broke, australians who have recently bought real estate will go broke or loose their money---these are the ridiculous comments that pepper this forum and invariably validated by so and so said so,well lots of people have theorys and like hanrahan when doomsday comes they will be well prepared for it.
as for my outlook and i firmly believe it is held by the majority,i believe in the resilience of people,i accept some will fail, not that failure is anything to be ashamed of,and the remainder will strive to acheive by their own effort.
there are quite a few on this forum who believe some sort of
collapse in r/e values would provide some kind of exclusive opportunity because they believed it would happen and it did, i have failed many times but keep getting up to have a
go,the doomsayers think a mass failure would provide an unprecedented opportunity for them----i would suggest they give a great deal more thought to cause and effect, there is unlikely to be any broadly based decline in r/e, some areas
for a variety of reasons will be affected,as will distressed sales, but given we have one of the highest levels of 100% ownership in the world i very much doubt there will be anything disastrous.
and i remain happy to contribute to hc,i dont have an exclusive little club to pat me on the back, and i firmly believe today is the best day to buy a home or investment property and tomorrow will be just like today, and it will work out just fine if you have a sound financial plan and are prepared to suffer a little but never lose sight of your goal
