The war still has a long way to run. The EU and US are not stupid. Let the war run long enough for the EU to strengthen their armed forces. Let the Russian arsenal run down as well as see what they have.
Also, it allows the US and others to test components of their own arsenal under warfare conditions.
The War also gives some comfort to the Baltic and Scandinavian countries in that Russia will not be able to wage a war on 2 or more fronts.
