Why is it meaningless? If I have $100k of capital at risk, and if the phase 3 trials fail, then it's gone—just like with lithium bubble stocks where 95-99% of the investment can be lost. Options just take that risk from 95% gone to 100% gone. But my reward is geared up. That's the way I see it. While the risk is higher with options, it isn't that much higher, but the reward is potentially double. As I mentioned, I have most of my investment in OPT in direct shares (just under 2 million shares and just over 1 million options), so I am not actually all in on options.
