BY no means an expert and as always, happy to be wrong........
A non inferior study generally takes a smaller sample that others.
Apparently it takes a smaller sample size to demonstrate that a product is similar (or no worse) than to prove it is different (better than).
Essentially, the sample size for the trial may be smaller ( and achieved sooner) than some us have been suggesting......
Hopefully the study protocol will be released soon......
