"We assume the NSW state government has formed theconclusion that new alternative sources of electricity generation (namely renewables)would not be in place to offset the pending closure of Eraring," analyst Gordon Ramsaysays in a note. "Origin's battery project is being put in place for load managementpurposes during period of peak demand and was never designed to fully replace the baseload electricity output provided by Eraring.
