'Floods"
I have worked in floods and fires in a professional capacity, Nursery - the last on major floods in NW NSW (2011/12 from memory) which led me to quit the emergency services sector. Sure, I saw remnants of the old Ozzy spirit often enough, but when I saw people threaten to shoot emergency service workers and other shocking behavior well that was the end of it to me. With the exception of we oldies perhaps, the Ozzie spirit in the bush is dying (mostly dead) and has descended into anger, mistrust and division. For the most part, we are the remaining pocket of the old way of life, and soon we'll be gone.

On the upside, I'm thankful that I lived long enough to witness the advent of string bikinis, so I can die a happy man .
