and these people call themselves 'sceptics'..... yet they're happy to believe whatever suits their agenda without question.

yep Hawke was a flawed man. just like every other PM we've ever had, just like any ordinary bloke. he was a man of his times, an era when women were considered accessible by any who didn't care a great deal for permanent relationships. in those days sexism was rife, racism 'normal', exploitation considered justified as long as it was profitable.

Yet Hawke was one of our best PMs since Menzies. yet Menzies too was a flawed man.

pros and cons to the current party system; the system itself is flawed in that it allows a certain type of person to gains ascendancy in the party power structures . the person most convincing in rhetoric, or at least in saying what the members want to hear, able to raise funds and network with associated to bring influence to bare and create a dream future.

the proof of an PM is after consumption.... and the analyses shows where the flaws were and where the benefits. all in hindsight.

obviously we need a better system of developing leadership and decision making.

    thanks for posting Tau. Scott.
