would think it would be quicker to put a robot in a commercial lear jet and bring it to christchurch (or Greymouth if runway long enough) cant rely on the New Zealand or Australian airforce
what use is a robot it cant carry any survivors out.
better to get a couple of volunteers who know the mine prepared to risk their lives to go in there. Knowles saying they could cause an explosion by going in there is true, but I think that risk is better than the higher risk of just leaving survivors to slowly die in pain if they have not allready.
The voulunteers could mitigate their risk of explosion by having no metal clothing or boots causing static and by using plastic wheelbarrows/carts to carry extra rebreathers. Just a thought knowles is doin the best he can but seems way out of his depth probably better if he was back issuing speeding tickets
