Out of interest, I watched the Diggers and Dealers presentations by Gold Road and the South African group, Gold Fields. They both own 50% of the Gruyere operation, with the latter owning the right to operate Gruyere,
What I took from both is that the rainy season severely impacted the Gruyere Mine - with a major route in closed, resulting in fuel having to be ferried in via Northern Territories.
The Australian quoted South Africa’s Gold Fields has made it clear it is not a seller of operational rights and is highly committed to the Australian market.
Very early on in their presentation, Gold Fields contradicts that, when it explains how, in Feb 2024, they'd divested their 50% interest in the Asanko mine in Ghana, to their partner, Galiano, converting partly into a 19.9% interest in Galiano, which they hold.
