I take your point TR but there are no more moving parts in a PHEV than a standard ICE and the engine in a PHEV has a much easier life because the battery and the electric motor do the lion's share of the work. So it will be interesting to see what the effective life of the engine is in a PHEV given that most of the mileage will be 'easy' open road miles rather than the stop-start city miles.
