Woke ACT Labor-Greens government fights against renewables

When it comes to renewables, look at what they do, not what they say.

That’s how you know renewables are not as green as you think.

Because when push comes to shove, even the biggest renewable backers will fight against it when it’s going to affect them.

Here’s a story you might have missed that shows it perfectly.

The hard left ACT Labor/Greens government pride themselves on the ACT being powered by 100 per cent renewable energy.

They can say that because their grid is backed up by NSW non-renewable energy whenever there are shortages.

So there’s a massive hypocrisy when news broke a couple of weeks ago that the ACT Government is fighting against a solar farm across the border in NSW.

That’s right, the most pro-renewables government is actually fighting against renewable energy.

    Why?

Because the farm is going to be “less than one kilometre” from residents in two northern Canberra suburbs.

And, “The risk of bushfires is also believed to be an ACT concern.”

According to local news site, The RiotAct, the ACT Government lodged a submission with the NSW Government saying they have:

“... concerns about potential environmental damage, noise impacts on border suburbs, bushfire risk and roads and traffic management that have been repeatedly raised since 2020.”

    So why should you care?

Because this shows the supporters of renewable energy know that these projects aren’t as green as you think.

They know local residents don’t like them, they know there are safety risks, and they know they destroy Aussie bushland.

They know it, but they don’t care when the farms are built out of sight in regional and coastal communities.

They only care when it affects them and might stop people voting for them.

Because it’s not about the environment, it’s about dollars and destruction.

Oh, and by the way, who is the big company building this $170 million project?

Univergy International, a Spanish and Japanese renewables company.

This is the truth about the ideological push for renewables and it’s not going to be the last time we see this hypocrisy from left wing governments.
