Fortescue/China will save by immensely once they remove the oxygen from the 200mt of iron ore with 8mt of green hydrogen. Very efficient and incredibly cost efficient. And in the process turning that iron ore to green iron.
By replacing 200mt of iron ore imports with 100mt of green iron imports they've halved shipping costs. This could double or even triple the value of the project.
Like Jb highlighted a cost of $100bn will seem like nothing when the potential project is bringing in $40bn per annum with Fortescue earning $20bn per annum and that's just from this ONE project!
A once in a lifetime world changing opportunity is being presented here. Like Jb, I think they need to move fast on this.
