The 2 interlocked main influences on gold miners remain the POG and world (especially Wall St) stock market valuations and volatility.
If the market crashes, the POG (at least in the short term) will be sold off .... to which level GOK.
But, after the catastrophic miscalculation by the FED to let Lehmans fail (the Lehmans moment) which spiralled into the GFC causing unprecedented damage not seen since the Great Depression post the 1929 Wall St collapse), the FED and other CB's, most notably the EU Central Bank, and latterly, the Chinese CB ... all have adopted the nostrum of not letting institutions "too big to fail" fail .... this policy was first adopted (in modern times) by the Japanese CB after their 1989 stock market crash and the subsequent 1991 housing boom collapse .... and have been using "zero interest rates" and QE ever since.
Whatever .... so, all things being equal, the FED will not allow a "crash" before the elections (that would hand it to Trump).
But at the same time, the IOUSA debt spiral gathers pace, and major players are seeking alternatives to the US$, which should support gold.
So, expect RED and other producers to continue to reap record profits and build up war chests to further expansion and resilience.
LT became SLR MD in 2014 when the SP was 14c (subsequent high 256c) and 2014 was the last time SLR did a CR .....
RED's last CR occurred under the previous MD (when it had no other options) ... there will be no further CR for the foreseeable future.
Now that the share overhang has been eliminated, it's time for a 'share consolidation' to 600m shares .... giving a SP of $3.50 .... IMHO.
Expect volatility, but RED SH's should be thankful that a Buffet style management is intent on increasing seaworthiness of the current fleet, rather than mindless expansion of the fleet numbers.
The next quarterly will not be released till mid October, mere weeks before the US elections .... so perhaps some monthly production figures?
The SP should gravitate higher, especially after the expected exuberance that will be generated by Beaver Creek and Denver Gold Conference's etc.
