Firstly, Telstra is no longer in control of pricing. But with the increase in prices by most telcos, Telstra could maintain or improve its profitability.
With the sale of Foxtel, Telstra could utilise the money to reduce debts or increase its dividend. In addition, the management can focus its business in technologies and telecommunications.
Imo, the sale is a good thing.
