Regarding the shorts, yes, shortman.com.au shows that 50 million shorts were closed on 29/7, now only 25M open shorts.
1. CMC Markets shows that only 13M shares were traded on 29/7, so the shorts weren’t closed on-market. Were there any big off market trades that day?
2. With currently only 1.3% of stock shorted, the SP has still decreased ~15% from 29/7.
3. Who do we blame now for the decreased SP ?
