That's why averages by themselves are misleading, climate is much more than 'averages':
. How many people would survive a Cat 5 Cyclone sweeping across Brisbane and Gold Coast?
. How many birds would survive a 55'C daytime maximum temperature?
. How much damage is done by unprecedented tropical rain depressions?
The average of 0'C and 60'C is 30'C, so too the average of 25'C and 35'C. One of those threatens the survival of life on Earth, the other does not!
