I'm not an expert, so anyone who knows more regarding spod producers feel free to correct.
Greenbushes is Australia's lowest cost spod producer and I've seen estimates starting from $5500 USD to get to battery grade hydroxide.
Then the real question is why would a battery manufacturer choose spod over DLE if the cost is similar but the carbon footprint is much higher?
Add to that anything refined in China will attract a 25% tariff in the U.S.
