ok, cheap Chinese resin is all i needed to read- but its obviously a huge issue and its just normal 'poly" pipe it looks,though its normally polyethylene I think?....looks as though only 18 mm,25 mm and 32mm mainly- bigger sizes burst too?
mind you as a practical person (relatively), i cant understand the predominance of pipes in ceilings, high up in walls, and even in nearly impossible places to get at to repair if something goes wrong!
old galv pipes we rarely had issues but i dont trust poly fittings, poly pipe normally you expect to last at least 25 years, especially when not exposed to uv- old poly likely 40 years life
