I went the entire year expecting the Center for Biological Diversity to represent the Hualapai. I should have noticed that it was Earthjustice that reported the story in 2022. Anyway, the more I think about it, I see this litigation as a shot across the bow, rather than a torpedo to the hull. In the unlikely event that the samples show enough lithium in the clay to justify learning from LAC's mistakes and actually trying to extract it, even when open pit is out of the question, the approval process will take years and require attention to Hualapai concerns.
