I would reflect back on a couple of stocks that I have held over the years, NEA and ACX. Both of them had their prices go up to reflect what we all thought they were worth, until the rot started to set in They were both massively shorted for huge lengths of time, which depressed the share prices substantially. They were constantly attacked, any good news was sold into, forums were full of people bad mothing them.
The effect was that the share price remained depressed for many months, even perhaps a year or two. Those shorts held, the same patterns of behaviour continued.
Lo and behold eventually, when the time was ripe, they both received takeover bids from large international corporations. Those bids were well above the average price as it had been held for all those months, making it easy to gain acceptance from a majority of shareholders for the sale to be approved. A lot of people had been in the red for a long time ....
With respect to WBT, it seems to be a bit of "The story so far..."
Perhaps history repeating?
