At the moment, NAL is the only lithium mine in production in Quebec.

There are a number of other mines in the province trying to do the same.

As far as I can tell, the Whabouchi Mine in the James Bay Region owned by Arcadium is the closest to being in production of the competitors.

Like NAL it is a brownfield project, the rest are all greenfield projects at varying stages of permitting and development.

Of all those competing with NAL, none have a direct rail link to the ports for shipping concentrate, NAL does.

The Whabouchi Mine is about 400 kms to the railhead at Matagami, other mines in the James Bay Region are even further from rail.

The NAL mine has been in production for over 12 months in which time it has been optimised.

If I was an Olympic sprinter, I would like to have a head start like that.

If I was a tortoise, I would like to have a head start like that.

The NAL mine has a workforce that live locally in the towns that surround it.

The James Bay mines will rely heavily on a fly in fly out workforce.
