In our family fleet of cars we have two plug in hybrids. Daily driving they don’t use any fuel as the daily driving range is totally covered by their pure ev range and the ICE engines don’t even start.
Prior to having those cars we’d use cars with fuel engines and be using fuel for every trip.
That my friend is how a hybrid (Plug in hybrid notice) causes the removal of an ICE car from the roads.
Does that help you feel better that you didn’t waist your time reading the earlier post - but simply you didn’t understand how a plug in hybrid does cause “removal” of ICE from the transport mix?
