    That is correct.

Just because Putin a thug dictator decides to murder a country's inhabitants to steal their land, rights and children doesn't make the invasion correct, far from it.

Putin lies then lies again then lies again. Why would Ukraine want its future subjugated by Russia under Putin?

Putin is a hollow shell, went for his crazy place in history selling lies to invade. He has dragged Russia into the gutter of the world, along with Iran and North Korea.

The Russian troops need to leave Ukraine. Russia needs to find a way to live peacefully with a neighbour to benefit both countries. Hard to do, a democracy living next to a dictatorship. Should ditch Putin.

Historical Independence: Ukraine declared its independence from the Soviet Union on August 24, 1991, following a failed coup in Moscow. This declaration was overwhelmingly supported by a nationwide referendum on December 1, 1991, in which over 90% of Ukrainian voters affirmed their desire for independence.
    1. International Recognition: Ukraine is recognized as an independent state by the United Nations and has established diplomatic relations with nearly all countries in the world, including Russia. It became a member of the United Nations in 1991 and has been recognized by the international community as a sovereign nation.

    2. Territorial Integrity: Ukraine has internationally recognized borders, which include regions like Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk, despite ongoing disputes and conflicts with Russia. The international community, including the United Nations, continues to recognize Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

    3. Government and Constitution: Ukraine has its own government, separate from Russia's. It operates under its own constitution, adopted in 1996, which establishes the framework for its legal system, governance, and the rights of its citizens.

    4. Military and Economy: Ukraine maintains its own military forces and conducts its own foreign and domestic policies. It also has a distinct economy, currency (the hryvnia), and trade relationships independent of Russia.

    5. International Agreements and Memberships: Ukraine is a member of various international organizations, such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Council of Europe, and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). These memberships further affirm its status as an independent state.
