There are many points of view on this war as there are many points of view on the Israeli-Gaza war and on the efforts of the USA to "contain" China but IMO Aus has the ability entertain such differences of opinion (its part and parcel of our democracy) unlike that of China, Russia or other Authoritarian regimes.
IMO efforts by some posters on this thread to shut down posters with different views on this war is not alone un-democratic...its also un-Australian IMO.
How ridiculous would it be to be seen like the North Koreans acting like phoney puppet flag wavers motivated by fear.
IMO while Australia's national interests ought to be paramount , that ,nevertheless diversity of opinions should feature in formulating what Australian's national interest is...not what a few power brokers imagine it to be.
The risk of Nuclear war is now at its highest ever and IMO that's why a prompt settlement of this war , a resolution of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and the peaceful co-existence of the Great Powers should be any sane person's primary existential concerns.
We are a non-Nuke State lacking the defensive capabilities that Nuclear arms can provide , so logically we should be advocating peace ; not advocating an escalation of a war that could lead to us being wiped off the map.
What we don't materially loose in war, we loose in our belief is the goodness of humanity.
