    "It's pretty damn clear that the majority of Australians are against immigration at current levels and want to see it wound right back.". ... yet it was Liberal Party policy and Abbott's actions to force universities to import hundreds of thousands of foreign students (>150,000) which caused this level of immigration.

    NOTE: the increase in 22/23 was due to students part way through their studies returning after covid border closures were re-opened. 23/24 will show a fall and with Albanese's carrot/stick on university funding there should be a significant drop in immigration in 24/25.
