I don't know the answer.... its appalling but there must be solid reasons.

I've read some reports saying Gazans don't want to leave their land/homes/neighbourhoods. you can see, using the principles laid out in Seligman's Learned Helplessness LINKy. how people can become stuck in a tortured environment. its a well documented/supported psychological model.

other reports support the rejection of other Arabic nations, due in part to religious differences and the difficulties such nations have in managing their own populations.
