If you are following battery cycle life, there has been some impressive developments over the past couple of years regarding single crystal NMC. This technology is already in manufacture (not just academic papers) and you can now expect battery life of 1,200,000km.
Plenty of cycles to allow for Bi-directional V2G applications.
