Sophisticated investor is just BS. I’m a sophisticated investor. So what. It’s just a letter from an Accountant certifying to brokerage firm that you have assets exceeding $2.5 million and earning more than $250k.
It will help with lower brokerage fees. As these days many retail investors use online trading platforms you don’t even get an opportunity in IPO’s. It’s a fanny.
Many on here have seen my trades with low brokerage fees, like 0.066%. I have 2 live trading platforms. Iress and CommSec Iress. The online broker that offers 0.066% only requires $220 of trades a month. I have never paid a cent for the use of IRESS.
With CommSec IRESS I asked them based on the value of trades for free ComSec IRESS years ago however I actually haven’t used it for probably 6 months because 0.066% is far more better than 0.12% especially when you are turning over a lot of money. I actually asked CommSec to match the 0.066% but all the would offer was 0.088%. Of course I don’t trade with CommSec anymore but still have free access. Happy to post pics of both trading platforms and my CommSec page where it says Paying effectively half in brokerage means higher profits and lower losses. Thats obvious.
CommSec IRESS actually has better detail than IRESS I am actually trading from. So I have both trading platforms opened at once.
So I thing I’m a serious investor based on your interpretation but that is utter rubbish. AUM as many will know is Assets under Management. In other words a fund manger is investing clients money into diverse assets. Stocks, cash, bonds, gold, etc etc.
So the fund manager of course works for an entity that manages assets on behalf of clients. I am of course no fund manager, however this is irrelevant to whether I am a serious investor. Therefore I qualify for 2 of the 3 forms of a serious investor according to your ridiculous definition.
