The Rosario Copper Project in Chile is an emerging high-potential mining site located in the Atacama region, within the commune of Diego de Almagro. The project is situated near established copper operations like CODELCO’s El Salvador mine, benefiting from the well-developed infrastructure of this renowned mining district.

    Project Overview:

    • Geological Setting: The Rosario project is a Manto-style deposit, which is typical for the region. These deposits are known for their stratabound mineralization, often associated with copper, silver, and sometimes other metals like lead and zinc.
    • Location Advantages: The project is approximately 10 kilometers north of the El Salvador copper mine and around 120 kilometers east of the port city of Chañaral. It is also close to key processing facilities, which is critical for operational efficiency and cost management.

    Mineral Grades and Exploration Results:

    • Copper Grades: The exploration work at Rosario has yielded promising results. Out of 89 rock chip samples taken, 73 contained over 0.1% copper, with an average grade of 2.13% copper. Notably, some samples exceeded 5% copper, indicating high-grade zones within the deposit.
    • Potential: The project features mineralized trends over a 10-kilometer strike length, with zones up to 200 meters wide. These initial results suggest significant potential for a high-grade copper resource, which PAM aims to confirm through further exploration, including geochemical sampling, mapping, and geophysical surveys to delineate drill targets.

    Strategic Importance:

    • Market Positioning: By acquiring the Rosario Copper Project, Pan Asia Metals aims to strengthen its position in the copper market, especially as demand for copper grows due to its critical role in the global transition to electrification.
    • Operational Synergy: The project's proximity to existing mining and processing infrastructure, combined with Chile’s mining-friendly policies, positions it as a potentially low-cost, high-reward asset for PAM.

The Rosario Copper Project is still in the early stages of development, but its high copper grades and strategic location make it a promising prospect for Pan Asia Metals as they expand their footprint in the copper industry (Mining Technology) (ChemAnalyst).
