The problem with tailings dams is they are huge and if you've ever seen a cultural heritage map of a proposed mining lease, any tailings dam is going to cover dozens of sites.

Coming the same day as SVL getting rejected on appeal after spending nearly a decade securing every approval required, it's a dark day indeed for NSW mining. The state has become utterly uninvestable.
