much of the Q'ran is open to interpretation. just like the Old Testament there are directions from 'god' to be violent, to take over the land of those who lived there before, anger and hatred of the "other" tribe.
same things in the Jewish books.
yet all religions can be taken as "peaceful" depending on the "will of god" and one's own interpretation.
