It’s interesting how some use SMA’s, I certainly see why but I don’t know, guess I just like the more activity and clarity of EMA’s to define momentum. From EMA’s I also like to use the angle of attack to measure the strength of any move. With SMA’s you just don’t get that as it’s all smoothed out of course.
On my Iress platform we can now change my Bollie median to EMA rather than the normal 20SMA which I’m so grateful for.
It’s cool when the better chartists declare what they are using as when they post a chart I like to know what I’m reading or can I read more into it when using different measures.
