Tell half the story, why not tell the truth?
The plans are abandoned due to escalating costs, not unlike the cost building windmills, everything is costing more.
"The French nuclear powerhouse EDF, which is fully government-owned and manages the country’s extensive network of nuclear power plants, has reportedly abandoned its plans to develop a new design for small modular reactors (SMRs) due to concerns over escalating costs. EDF, having faced potential bankruptcy from delays and significant cost overruns at its latest large-scale nuclear projects, had been working on the SMR design for the past four years."
