My crystal ball tells me CBA will top out at approximately $139.84 by the close tomorrow.
My crystal ball relies on reading a chart.
Will CBA be able to continue increasing dividends? - Probably not substantially if at all.
What will be a catalyst for an increase in the share price? - A reduction in interest rates would make the dividend more attractive.
The shares will go ex-div on Wednesday & it will be another 6 months before the next dividend attracts buyers.
Is the share price over-extended? - Yes.
Is there more downside risk than upside risk in the short to medium term? - Yes
Will the share price fall on Wednesday after stock goes ex-div? - Yes
Is it worthwhile selling to either buy back later or move to another stock? - If you can overcome capital gains tax problems that will have to be confronted eventually, the answer is YES.
There is a limit on how high the price will go. It is just a matter of deciding when that high will be. In my opinion that high will be obtained by close tomorrow although we may have already seen the top.
