Subah,
No offence, but I think CUE knows how to conduct their "marketing" a little better than MEO. Have to thank CUE to a degree that we have confirmation that the spud actually did happen. Brownie points to them!! As for MEO, not whinging about what was done, but about the calus way they handled the situation.
Look at it this way, yesterday it was common knowledge about the details of the CR. Why not release that announcement yesterday, say at market close, give people time to work out properly what the implications can or can't be and by this morning have the announcement that we HAVE spuded, blah, blah, blah! They made the whole highlight of today be about the CR! Yes, it made Jurgen look like a hero, but what happened to all his excitement about Artemis!!! Who cares, hey?? He isn't stupid, he didn't want the spud of that well to be a big deal. He wanted the CR to be a big deal, in favour of who?, us shareholders?!
Those that argue, who cares about short termers, and day traders, only the long term investors matter, it's a load of rubbish and you must know that. If you bought some shares at any given time you would like to think they have a reasonable value retained unless of course unforeseeable events cause a decline in value, NOT the management causing a mess with your share price. Even if you are long term, you don't want to buy them one week and look at them the following and say, wow my 60c share is worth .50c. Too bad for you if you needed that money all of the sudden.
I understand, this is the sharemarket, prices go up and down, blah, blah, blah, but when it is as calculated as what happened here, you can't go round calling these people such heroes. If the well is a duster, the price will tank, full stop. That extra 30 million isn't going to make miracles happen with the share price. Bots will work it the same way, business as normal for them.
Anyway, i'm sure that as they know how to run a show like today on the shallowness of some people, i'm sure they'll know how to reverse todays mess. It was inevitable that today was going to turn out how it did. That isn't a problem with me, the problem came up with me when Cues announcement came out and thought, whats the MEO mob doing, siting on their backsides drinking champagne at our cost? MEO should have had an announcement out first saying about the spud, after all they are the operators, arn't they???
Very disappointing on their part.
Advisor, can you please continue your story.... A bit of humour would go down well after today :)
