- Kelsian Group Limited (ASX:KLS) has been added to the Active and Investing Model Portfolios.
- KLS engages in the provision of multi-modal transportation and tourism services. It operates through the following segments: Marine and Tourism; Australian Bus; International Bus; and Corporate. The Marine and Tourism segment focuses on vehicle and passenger ferry services, barging, coach tours, and package holidays, lunch, dinner, and charter cruises, and accommodation facilities. The Australian Bus segment provides metropolitan public bus services in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, and Darwin. The International Bus segment includes bus services in London and Singapore. The Corporate segment is involved in finance, domestic, and international sales and marketing, information and technology, business development, fleet management, health and safety, and administration and risk management support. The company was founded in 1989 and is headquartered in Adelaide, Australia.
- On 28 February 2024 KLS announced its half year FY24 results:
- Underlying EBITDA grew by 63.5% to $130.5m illustrating benefits of scale and addition of the higher margin AAAHI business;
- Underlying EBIT grew by 29.4% to $58.1m;
- Underlying Net Profit After Tax and before Amortisation increased by 20.4% to $43.1m;
- Despite what looked like strong results the KLS share price fell from $6.60 to $5.00
- KLS is due to release its FY24 result in late August 2024.
- Technically, KLS is trading well below the 200-day moving average of $5.91. In addition to this, it is trading slightly above the 50-day moving average of $5.04.
- KLS has been added to the Active and Investing Model Portfolios with a 5% weighting.
