No, I don't think it's logistics. DB clearly was refusing to talk about it and my understanding it was on Synlait's side. The following is pure speculation on my side but I wouldn't be surprised if that was some kind of retaliation from Synlait for A2M withholding payment during the final stage exclusivity dispute negotiation. But in reality it could be anything from operational problems to ingredients shortage, etc. Regardless, now A2M have inventory in China at lower level than they want/need and there is a chance that they won't be able to increase it to appropriate level before 11/11 with standard freight. As a solution they want to use airfreight as it's much quicker. One need to remember that it takes about 3 months from shipment date till it will be available for sale in China if shipped by sea.
