Interesting video. Yes, trying to stop a nuclear war breaking out between America and Russia would be an honourable thing to do but sadly there are people throughout the world, in particular in the collective West who appear to be hell-bent on starting one. Poking the bear relentlessly is insane. Peace negotiations would be far more preferable but as noted in the video it appears Putin has lost the appetite to go down that road. There were many opportunities for peace over the past 10 or so years. Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see how this all goes. Too bad hundreds of thousands of lives were lost needlessly. I suppose that doesn't matter to the warmongers. After all, there is much profit in it. This quote from Deep Space 9 is relevant:
"The way I see it, hew-mons used to be a lot like Ferengi: greedy, acquisitive, interested only in profit. We're a constant reminder of a part of your past you'd like to forget. .... But you're overlooking something: Hew-mons used to be a lot worse than the Ferengi. Slavery. Concentration camps. Interstellar wars. We have nothing in our past that approaches that kind of barbarism. You see? We're nothing like you. We're better. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a lock to pick." - Quark
