No, just a realist with a grasp of human history. We've enjoyed 80 odd years of peace in our neck of the woods, so a lot of people think that's the normal state of affairs. The issue is, most don't realise why we've enjoyed that peace.

Australia has no ability to defend itself conventionally against an attacker the size of, for example, China. That's just a factual statement. Europe has NATO & article 5. That's what has kept Russia out of the Baltics and most of Eastern Europe. We have our relationship with the US & UK.
