I would like to see some numbers of what you think taking company private or a takeover would be worth. Here are mine after being part or watch many LBO.

1. Book value in AR a true measure of all assets and cash.. 2.2B / 935M shares = $2.35 Share Rember if they pay more than book that goes on their ballance sheet as good will.
2. TMM earning after AR $0.12 times the average buy out multiple of 10 = $1.20 share .
3. 2024 revenue $477M usual buy out multiple on one years revenue is 1 X $477M / 935M shares = $0.50

Now Lynas Is a good company in a very exciting field I am sure a premium will be paid maybe 125% or possibly 150% but remember we are talking about over $3B needed 2B of which will be goodwill and banks are ruled by number crunchers. In US banks are under stress I doubt they would get much more than 1.25 book especially with 2 years of declining revenue and profits. Maybe there is more money floating around in AU

I am sure many on this board think I am crazy for saying this. If so go back and look at Wesfarmers 5 years ago they made an offer of AUD $2.25. Many said just wait. A white knight would come. WF would have to raise price. Neither happened. LYC rose up to just over $3.00. Then WF withdrew. Stock returned to just above $1.00. Many hear the press when a company sells for a fantastic price and think that is typical. Reality is 90% of these LBO's are for less than book value, 10 X profits or 1 x times revenue.
