In what way was the POC successful?

Imagine you're a builder and you sit in your home office, maybe tossing a ball for your dog to fetch while you rage text online. The phone rings but you're on a roll, so you let it go to voicemail. You ring the number back because who can be bothered with voicemail, and it's a bloke who wants a deck! Bingo!! You go to his house and measure up, show him some pictures of previous work and give him a quote on labour and materials.

You come home and your wife asks you, how was your day? A huge success, honey. I gave someone a quote. Oh that's nice.

A week later your wife asks did that guy go ahead with the deck? No? Maybe you better requote? Give him your best and final offer! The mortgage is due and we can't pay it with successful quotes. So you give him your BAFO and keep throwing the ball to your dog. Bloody Covid you think, I'd have got this job if it wasn't for Covid...
