Ah thank you for providing me another opportunity to point out the issues in your analysis.
So here we have an intention to restrict cars from parking in certain places with more than 80% charge in batteries and a possible intention to limit fast chargers to fill a battery no more than 80%.
I guess if a limit were placed on a petrol tank to not be filled more than say 80%, then, if I wanted to carry a larger load of fuel I’d just fit a bigger tank …
If the suggested limits are applied, to what extent do you think manufacturers will just respond by putting larger capacity batteries in their cars to then give stats such as “range at full capacity 700km, range at 80% capacity 560km”. (Where previously they may have just said “range at full capacity 560km”.
And you think this news means bad outcomes for lithium demand? Think a little deeper I suggest …
