A couple of years ago when AKIDA 2.0 TENNS were at the end stage of development Valeo produced a video of what Scala 3 was going to be capable of in the future.
In the video the Valeo vehicle with Scala 3 was travelling on a multi lane road in moderate traffic. In the driver side lane was a truck and there were various other cars in the lanes ahead and behind the Valeo Scala 3 vehicle.
Scala 3 had found all of these vehicles and placed them in bounding boxes. To the rear of the Valeo Scala 3 vehicle was a motor cycle travelling faster than the Valeo Scala 3 vehicle.
It was changing lanes as it gained ground on the Valeo Scala 3 vehicle which had now drawn level with the truck.
The motor cycle moved into the lane behind the truck and then overtook the truck on the truck’s driver side and became completely invisible to the human driver of the Scala 3 vehicle.
Amazingly the Scala 3 Lidar did not have this problem and was able to follow and predict where the motor cycle was and would emerge.
Valeo remains partnered with Brainchip having been first announced as an EAP customer of Brainchip in 2020.
Valeo has stated that this ability of Scala 3 is software based.
Brainchip has made clear in the latest CEO podcast that AKIDA TENNS is available for purchase as software.
