So what of August 1939 ? No one disputed that. A common myth ? Look at the facts/dates/events. The Soviets suspended the talks with the Anglo/French on 21st August 1939...the very same day Stalin received German assurances over the secret protocols concerning the divvying up of Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Bessarabia and indicated he was willing to sign the Pact and receive Ribbentrop 2 days later. No myth methinks and very likely as I said he was secretly having talks with the Germans at the same time as he was with the British/French.
