News: UPDATE 1-One train shut at Ichthys LNG plant, Inpex says

    SINGAPORE, Aug 22 (Reuters) - One of the two trains at the Ichthys liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Darwin, Australia, has been shut since Aug. 20, operator Inpex Corp 1605.T said in an emailed statement on Thursday.

    "Train 2 at Ichthys LNG was temporarily halted on the evening of August 20. The impact is currently being evaluated," Inpex said.

    This is the plant's second train outage in the past month, after an outage in July.

    Ichthys LNG is a joint venture between Inpex, TotalEnergies TTEF.PA , and the Australian subsidiaries of CPC Corporation Taiwan, Osaka Gas 9532.T , Kansai Electric Power 9503.T , JERA and Toho Gas 9533.T .

    The plant's processing trains can produce 8.9 million metric tons of LNG per year.
