Global markets were all up overnight.
In Europe, the FTSE rose 39 points (.48%), the DAX rose 139 points (.76%) and the CAC rose 52 points (.70%).
All the excitement came after US chair Jerome Powell's Jackson Hole economic symposium speech where he talked about the changes since the COVID pandemic and announced that the "Time has come for interest rate cuts".
Expectations of a series of interest rate cuts starting in September re-invigorated the US markets.
The DOW rose 462 points (1.14%), the NBI rose 53 points (1.12%), the NASDAQ Composite rose 258 points (1.47%) and the Russell small cap index rose 68 points (3.19%).
Of note, the US Treasury 10 year bond yield dropped to 3.804%
Oil prices also surged - Brent crude is up to US$79.06 per barrel. Another indication that markets think that better times will increase demand.
Gold price surged above US$2500 and sits at US$2,512 per oz.
BITCOIN also surged and is at US$64,299.
