I have been researching more on the future of the mobile industry. one of the biggest things that has held back businesses from entering the mobile channel with paid content is that the mobile carriers have long beed to greedy on the cut they take from and charges billed to a users mobile account i.e. in the region of 50%. This has made e-commerce sites for example not viable on mobile. Users are also still reluctant to use credit cards on mobile for security fears, even though it is actually secure as the web.
What is happening right now however, is a huge race for a new breed of billing companies that can bill on mobile at a fraction of the cost compared to mobile carriers. One of these companies is called Payfone who are busy rolling our their global network right now. Once this new breed of billing companies are a viable option for the mobile channel (6-12 months) then mobile will explode like never before! Mobiles will become virtual wallets and eventually replace credit cards! When these billing solutions are in place you will see e-commerce companies embracing mobile on a large scale. So how does this affect Motopia? Well it means all of the mobile services they run will result in lower costs to the consumer and much higher margins being kept by Motopia, so think about all of the branded content they will be promoting globally and also the demand there will be for mobile advertising and you should see the size of the opportunity here!
Combine the explosion of mobile apps, mobile advertising and where mobile billing is heading and i do not believe there is a better space to be in right now than this!
$1.20 within 12 month IMO.
